We are working on providing a shower/toilet unit for our overnight parking campervan visitors, hope to be ready by 1st April if not before. Cost will be included in overnight parking charge which will increase to £16 (two people).

In Lower Shader on the north west of the Isle of Lewis, we can offer overnight parking with electrical hook up on our hardstanding area for 2 campervans or caravans, access to water supply, rubbish/recycling bins and CDP.
(CDP-only eco-friendly biodegradeable toilet chemicals permitted)
We do not have shower facilities and can only accept campervans/caravans with their own toilet and washing facilities.

You may use our garage toilet (c/w tap). *We first ask that you please observe safety signage within the garage area.
Access to a separate washing machine/drying area can be made available.
Within 10 miles either side of us are good eating places, interesting landmarks, and great views. Drive on in either direction to the many fascinating Lewis visitor sites. The Port of Ness (Butt of Lewis) lies 10 miles to our North, whilst the circular route to many of the "must see" sites of the Isle of Lewis can be accessed 4 miles South at Barvas

For petrol nearest to Shader:-
4 miles south at Welcome Inn Filling Station in Barvas.
7 miles North at Swainbost Shop.
There are short walks to the shore and village, including Steinacleit archeological site, from where you can enjoy the view back over Loch an Duin. Clach an Trushal stone, reputed to be the tallest monolith in Scotland, is a few minutes drive to village of Ballantrushal.
Stop for teas/lunches at the “An cafe” within the old Cross School where Ness Historical Society have created a hub for locals and visitors to browse archives and croft histories on the area. Borve House Hotel is 1 mile north of Shader, or call at The Buttery at the Old Decca station in Ness. As all nearby cafes are well worth a visit you will be spoiled for choice!
A 30 minute drive takes you back to Stornoway ferry terminal from where the ferry to Ullapool departs daily.
Shader is on the A857, 15 miles from the town of Stornoway, 4 miles North of Barvas and 10 miles South of the Port of Ness. At Lower Shader we are 160 metres from the main road as you turn into LOWER SHADER.
