The 6 metre high Standing Stone lies just off the A857 and about 4 km north east of Upper Barvas, about 20km north of Stornoway on the A857. Turn west into the township and after 600m a track leads to a parking area and to the stone.

Largest single standing stone in Scotland. The stone is maintained by Historic Scotland (no entry charge to area).

This standing stone is  said to be the largest stone of its type in Scotland,  but its actual purpose is not clear.  More about the details
